Closing Costs in Canada: What to Budget Beyond the Down Payment

Every closing cost when buying a home in Canada: land transfer tax, CMHC premium sales tax, legal fees, inspection, title insurance and adjustments, with examples by province.

Lenders require proof that you have at least 1.5% of the purchase price on top of your down payment. In Toronto or Vancouver, the real figure is often 3% to 4%.
